For clear aligner treatment, your entire set of aligner trays is fabricated upfront based on a 3D digital scan, so you take all trays home with you and progress through them on a schedule agreed with the clinic. Remote check-ins via photos or video calls allow the orthodontist to monitor progress. You return for a final review and retainer fitting when treatment is complete. For fixed braces, many patients have braces bonded during the first visit, then return every three to four months for adjustments — which can be timed with holiday visits. The clinic will also provide a local orthodontist referral for emergency wire issues.
